Seema Malhotra, Member of Parliament for Feltham and Heston, today hosted an event for the Great Get Together at the Open Kitchen, a foodbank in her constituency. Also in attendance were Councillor Shaida Mehrban, who represents the Hounslow South ward, and Councillor Samia Chaudhary, who represents the Hanworth ward.

The theme of the Open Kitchen event was talking and eating together – something which is often missed in the community.

The Open Kitchen was opened by Muslim Hands in Winter 2018. It can be found at 514 Great West Road, Hounslow, TW5 0TE and is open from 12-2pm and 6-8pm.

The Great Get Together initiative is inspired by the life and politics of Jo Cox to bring together communities to foster national unity. The Great Get Together 2019 took place over the weekend of the 21st-23rd June 2019, on what would have been Jo Cox’s 45th birthday. More than 720,000 people took part in over 11,000 events in 2019.
