Seema Malhotra, MP for Feltham and Heston, raised concerns over delays to ambulances in West London in Parliament on Monday.
Seema raised her concerns in the House of Commons on Monday, following an incident in the constituency, where an elderly man with diabetes fell and broke his shoulder, but was forced to wait almost two hours for an ambulance. She heard from local ambulance staff that this problem is common throughout London, and indeed beyond.
Seema said: “Delays like this are wholly unacceptable. This is far too long for an elderly man to be left in pain, and the figures confirm this picture of delays across the country. The care he received when ambulance staff arrived was excellent, but they are clearly too overstretched. I am extremely concerned that these capacity issues mean the situation could get considerably worse as we approach the holidays."
