On March 5th Seema Malhotra, Member of Parliament for Feltham and Heston, hosted the Parliamentary premiere of H is for Harry, a documentary about a young boy attending Feltham Reach in her constituency.

The film is a coming of age story about Harry, a charismatic 11-year old boy, who arrives at secondary school in suburban London unable to read or write. With the help of Sophie, his extremely dedicated teacher, can he overcome the illiteracy ingrained across generations of his family?

It is described the Sunday Times as “casting a spotlight on one of the biggest educational scandals in Britain… heartbreaking.”

The screening was followed by a panel featuring Tracy Brabin MP, the Shadow Minister for Early Years, the directors of the documentary and multiple specialists in education and teaching.
