Seema Malhotra is interviewed at Parliament's first Teeyan celebration

Seema Malhotra, the Member of Parliament for Feltham and Heston, hosted the first Teeyan festival in Parliament on Monday evening.

This unique evening is led by the West London-based organisation Voice of Women and featured speeches from Virendra Sharma, the MP for Ealing Southall, Ruth Cadbury, the MP for Brentford and Isleworth, Councillor Raghwinder Siddhu, the Deputy Mayor of Hounslow, and Councillor Shaida Mehrban, a Hounslow Councillor. Also in attendance was Tan Dhesi, the MP for Slough.

Teeyan is a Punjabi women’s festival which is celebrated during the monsoon season. The main focus of the event is Teeyan dancing.
