Feltham and Heston

Seema is proud to represent the constituency of Feltham and Heston, where she grew up with her family.

Situated within the London Borough of Hounslow, Feltham and Heston is an area to the West of London which is primarily composed of suburban neighbourhoods and scattered industrial estates, with good links into central London. The constituency is very diverse, with a majority non-white population, and 40% of people are from an Asian background. Over 140 languages are spoken in Hounslow.

To the north-west of Feltham and Heston is London Heathrow Airport, which dominates the local economy. The biggest industries in Feltham and Heston are information and communication (16.8% of businesses), transport and storage (12.8%) and professional, scientific and technical (10.6%) – making use of the Heathrow as a neighbour with strong supply links. According to the London Borough of Hounslow’s official figures, approximately 10% of Hounslow’s working-age residents are employed within the boundaries of Heathrow Airport, whilst 20% of Hounslow’s employment depends on the airport.

Also of interest is the Feltham Young Offender Institution which is situated in the constituency.
